In the beginning, there were only the Three. Forever they had been, forever they would be, sisters living in their home amid nothing. After a time Res, the youngest, grew bored. As she looked out the window at the nothingness, she had an idea. She created a spinning wheel. Opening the window, she reached out and drew in the nothingness and began to spin a thread. Then she began another, and another, until a vast number of threads were pouring from the wheel. Teven, the middle sister, seeing the threads, was filled with inspiration. She created a loom. Gathering the threads, Teven began to weave them into a magnificent Tapestry. Mór, the eldest, seeing that occasionally a thread was no longer needed, also had an idea. She created a pair of shears. As a thread reached its end, she would clip it.

Soon the Tapestry began to fill the room, leaving little room for anything else. Teven gathered up her creation and flung it out into the nothingness. And the nothingness was filled with stars and planets and moons. So the universe was born.

For untold millennia the Three worked, a labor born of love. They filled their masterwork with worlds and people, gods and devils, epic tales of wars, glorious victories and tragic defeats. No longer were the sisters bored. They had found their calling and were content to continue their work forever.

But their peace was not to last, for the unthinkable happened. The Three discovered they were not alone. The Three had always believed that they were alone, that other than their creations, there were no others. But from Somewhere Beyond there came another. Alien and strange was he. And filled with jealousy and rage. He looked upon the Tapestry and longed for nothing more than to destroy it. And so he began to unravel it. Pulling the threads apart, soon he had unraveled much of their work. The Three, seeing this unexpected threat, began to weave faster, and soon they had repaired their work. No matter how fast the Unraveler did his work, the Three were able to undo the damage he had done. But with all of the work they were doing repairing the damage, they were unable to continue.

this is a good creation myth. It has some of the classical elements and themes, and yet it is a new take on things. I like the weaving/fates things to explain how the universe came to be.

THough it looks like the first part of a trilogy, I would like to know what hte Unraveler is up to.

You might consider though, that they don't need a creation myth like this because their creation myth need only be concerned with how Oramis was shattered.

But, you might also consider tying in the Unraveler into the Shattering Myth. Say that one of the forces was a herald for the Unraveler, and the other was a Knight of the Three Weavers. Their battle broke the planet. (but again, don't mention that they are mages, leave them as unknown forces)
Do you find this valuable?
